Going to the Movies a Cultural/Social Experience that Should be Supported!
Eugene has TWO amazing options for intimate, unique, entertaining movie going!
The Metro is centrally located in the heart of downtown Eugene and features seven auditoriums with deluxe stadium seating, ranging in capacity from 19 to over 100. Our programming includes a curated selection of the latest blockbusters alongside niche-market foreign and indie films. Our expansive menu includes all your favorite concession snacks, plus house-made food and baked goods from our kitchen. Complete your visit with a beverage from our wide selection of NW crafted beers and ciders on draft, regional wines, cocktails, espresso drinks, and refreshing house-made beverages.
The Metro -- originally a 4-screen boutique miniplex -- was built in 2013 as a supplement to our two-screen sister cinema, the Art House (known at the time as the Bijou Art Cinemas). In 2019 the Metro expanded into the adjacent building, adding three larger auditoriums and ultimately connecting the Broadway and Willamette spaces, creating Eugene's first and only locally-owned and owner-operated multiplex cinema.

ART HOUSE RENAISSANCE
After lying dormant for over 2 years, Eugene’s iconic 2-screen art cinema has been resurrected and re-imagined as a multi-use venue: café by day, low-key bar at night, with movies and events in the evenings and on weekends. Our two auditoriums can accommodate a total of 143 guests in comfortable high-end rocker-back seats, and feature modern Dolby sound and digital cinema projection systems. Enjoy live music performances in an intimate listening room environment in the converted sanctuary, or relax with your beverage by the fountain in the cozy courtyard.
PRESERVING OUR LEGACY
Built in 1925, the historic Wilcox Building’s interior has been recently restored, highlighting its beautiful Spanish Mission-style architectural flourishes and original hand-stenciled woodwork. Originally known as Bijou Art Cinemas, the theater was founded in 1980 by Michael Lamont, and is currently operated by former employees who assumed management of the theater after his passing in 2007. Our programming continues to evolve with an ever-changing cinema industry, but at its core stays true to its roots as an Art House. Alongside current foreign and indie releases, you’ll find a variety of event screenings, cult and classic film series, and showcases of local and touring musical talent.
